After more than 20 years of collaboration, Lectra and Polipol continue their partnership in Fabric-ready fabrics. Polipol implements Lectra's Cutting Room 4.0 for contract manufacturing as part of its cutting department.

Polipol was already involved in the development phase of the Cutting Room 4.0 for Made-to-Order and an important partner in adapting the new solution as best as possible to the requirements of furniture manufacturers. The Cutting Room 4.0 for contract manufacturing consists of Lectra's digital cutting platform and Virga, the new fabric cut line for single layers. Together, they enable an intelligent production process, networked from order processing to cutting. The Industry 4.0 technologies make it possible to overcome the complexity of contract manufacturing and eliminate the limitations in the cutting department, as companies say. Thanks to the continuous digitization of the data flow between the ERP system and the cutting department, Polipol gains more transparency and control throughout the entire production process. For example, the upholstery manufacturer meets the changing customer requirements for more customization, shorter delivery times and high quality at affordable prices. Polipol wants to achieve more agility, throughput, cost efficiency and scalability.

"For the future growth of Polipol we need a solid foundation of innovation and state-of-the-art technologies. Lectra is one of the important partners for our future-oriented Industry 4.0 cutting area, "says Gerd Hemmerling, founder and managing director of Polipol.

Showcase project for digitization in the upholstered furniture industry

"Polipol and Lectra share the same innovation philosophy: We are committed to the role of a pioneer. Polipol's implementation of Cutting Room 4.0 for contract manufacturing is a showpiece of digital transformation in the upholstered furniture industry and another milestone in our Industry 4.0 strategy, "said Daniel Harari, CEO and CEO of Lectra. The Industrie 4.0 project follows the construction of a joint leather competence center in the Polipol plant in Wagrowiec (Poland), which is one of the most modern upholstered furniture factories in the world. The center is leading innovation in upholstered furniture production with eight state-of-the-art Versalis leather cutting solutions and 14 digitizing stations.

In a dramatically changing furniture industry, Lectra's Industry 4.0 strategy offers state-of-the-art solutions that enable manufacturers to deliver furniture to customers faster, cheaper, and with more customization options than ever before. Following the introduction of Cutting Room 4.0 last year, Lectra announced further offers in 2019 to advance this strategy in the upholstered furniture industry.
