Möbelwerke A. Decker were successfully recertified by the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel (DGM) as a "climate-neutral furniture manufacturer". The East Westphalian company had joined the DGM Climate Pact as a manufacturer. Now, after 2016 and 2017, it has also completely compensated for the total amount of CO2 emissions calculated for 2018 by the climate protection consultancy GreenBlau.

"The DGM Climate Pact is a joint effort of the participating furniture manufacturers, which specifically counteract climate change. Their goal is the analysis, reduction and compensation of CO2 emissions as far as possible of all entrepreneurial processes, "says DGM Managing Director Jochen Winning and is pleased about the successful recertification of Möbelwerke A. Decker. For their exemplary commitment, they receive the DGM label "Climate Neutral Furniture Manufacturers", with which they are allowed to advertise and also advertise ", as Jochen Winning notes:" Measures for climate protection are having a major impact, not least because of the Friday demonstrations by schoolchildren and students and appreciation in public. Companies that demonstrably work for the environment of present and future generations also benefit economically. Corporations whose economic success is knowingly achieved at the expense of the environment, however, are punished. "

Likewise positive for all furniture manufacturers participating in the DGM Climate Package: Thanks to their professional CO2 balancing, they can identify potential savings that, for example, can also have a beneficial effect on energy costs. After all, the analysis and reduction of CO2 emissions is followed by compensation for unavoidable emissions. For this purpose, a company acquires high-quality climate protection certificates from project operators all over the world, who benefit from afforestation or drinking water supplies, for example.

"Climate change affects us all and with targeted measures everyone can contribute to achieving the set climate goals. We are proud to be a sign of more climate protection with the furniture industry, "concludes Winning.
