The event character of LivingKitchen will be further strengthened: the Cologne trade fair organizers have invited Swiss star designer Alfredo Häberli (photo) to design a kitchen of the future for the "Future Design" format in LivingKitchen's new supporting program: an integrated living space of 160 sqm to emerge with the kitchen as the center.

It is said that surprising clarity and straightforwardness characterize Häberli's vision of the future kitchen. The designer takes the history of the kitchen, abstracts the idea of the form and offers the visitor an architectural projection surface. "Reducing growth will be a very important topic that affects not only mobility and space concepts, but also the kitchen," says Häberli, who in his Zurich studio, among other products for Alias, Baufritz, BD Barcelona, BMW, De Sede, Georg Jensen, Iittala, Kvadrat, Luceplan, Moroso, Ruckstuhl or Vitra.

Häberli sees his open-ended design less as a personal vision than as a food for thought for all. Here you can really take a look into the kitchen of tomorrow. "I want to consciously bring my design of a future kitchen to a certain level of abstraction, because the time we live in is going incredibly fast. The kitchen at LivingKitchen will address the near future. "

Future Design in Hall 4.2 serves LivingKitchen as an experimental space for a wide range of ideas for future kitchen design. In addition to Häberli's holistic vision of cuisine in the private space canon, the nominated designers of the Pure Talents Contest will be presenting their Kitchen Selection designs in their own exhibition.

As a second format, Future Foodstyles will be presenting the lifestyle and nutrition trends in the food sector in Hall 5.2 on 350 sqm. And on the basis of technologies already available today, Future Technology will be demonstrating in Hall 4.1 on about 600 square meters what developments in this area - especially in the area of Smart Home - can be expected in the near future.
