The billion in turnover is cracked

The Hettich Group grew by 8.6% in revenue in 2018, breaking the € 1 billion mark for the first time - and clearly.

Sales of € 1,059 billion were generated in 2018 after € 975 million in the previous year. Sales have grown in Germany as well as abroad, so that the export quota remains at 71%. These numbers were given by managing partner Dr. Ing. Andreas Hettich just announced at the balance sheet press conference in Kirchlengern. CFO Jana Schönfeld added that currently 6,700 employees work for Hettich, around 3,600 of them in Germany. For the current year, Dr. Hettich also a growth, but which will come out of the company economy. Due to the currently difficult market environment, Hettich considers industry growth in 2019 difficult to achieve.

At the leading interzum industry trade fair in May, the focus will be on the "AvanTech" drawer system and the "TopLine XL" sliding door system, as well as solutions from all product areas. Basically, the trade fair appearance, said Dr. med. Hettich, again under the motto "FascinAction" stand and pick up on the trend themes "feel shape", "enjoy comfort" and "gain space".

Hettich will go for a completely new approach with a product development that aims to bring order to the refrigerator, but also to other furniture such as the bathroom cabinet. "ComfortSpin" is a rectangular tray with a swivel fitting that can be rotated completely around its own axis. Products that are in the back of the cabinet are easily accessible. And because the product is suitable for so many applications and also easy to retrofit, it will be marketed for the first time via the online retailer Amazon directly to the end customer. In this way, one would like to test, among other things, the market and the acceptance of such retrofittable interiors, Dr. Hettich.
