The international Häfele Group for fittings technology, electronic locking systems and LED light, which operates in 150 countries around the world, increased its turnover, which was generated 80% outside of Germany, from EUR 1.375 billion to EUR 1.397 billion last year. This corresponds to an increase of 1.6%. Adjusted for currency effects, growth is 5.6%. The management is satisfied with this result in view of the difficult international market environment.

The 37 foreign subsidiaries achieved a plus of 2.3% in 2018 and thus contributed positively to the overall result. The parent company in Germany and its five production companies generated only a small increase of 0.4%, which was particularly due to the challenges of direct export business.

The number of employees increased in 2018 worldwide by 200 to now 7,800. In Germany, the number of employees, apprentices and students has remained constant at 1,600.

The group looks with confidence to the current fiscal year and expects further growth in the mid single-digit range. In 2019, 73 million euros will flow into the markets, logistics, IT and production. At Hannover, a second shipping center is currently under construction.
